American Gun Co. 12 Gauge SxS

I picked this old double barrel side-by-side up this past week. This one will be a lot of fun and a big challenge. I need to do some research on who the manufacturer is, however I’m up for the challenge and looking forward to restoring this to its original working condition.

After removing a lot of the rust and corrosion, we were able to identify the make of the shotgun. This one was sold under the “American Firearms Co” brand by Crescent Arms in 1909. The Crescent Arms company produced several different models sold under various names like this one. They were a household name and commonly referred to as “hardware store” guns.

Sears Ted Williams 3T .22 LR

Sears Ted Williams 3T with a customized look. The owner had dropped this and damaged the gunstock and tried to repair it using a bondo type material. We stripped off everything, and used a whitewash with espresso stain. The damage was still visible, so we applied a rawhide chin-rest and wrapped the for-end for a matched look. Deep scratches were on the aluminum body. After some medal work, and stripping off all the anodization, we went with a hammered copper powder coat that really stands out. The barrel was sanding and all the bluing was stripped. A complete re-bluing of the barrel and tube magazine makes this gun look brand new. Matching custom made buttplate was powder coated to match the gun’s body.

Marlin .22 LR

Marlin .22 LR complete overhaul. This weapon came into the shop in very poor shape and was so old, it doesn’t have a serial number. After a complete stripping and refinishing of the one-piece stock, we broke down the bolt and trigger assembly, upgrading a few parts, re-blued the barrel, and added red enamel for the safety (this firearm has two).
