It’s been a while since I have posted anything. I just wrapped up this Mossberg 283TB .410 gauge bolt action shotgun. The gun was pretty grimy and needed to be stripped and refinished. There were a few missing parts, but it came together nicely with a new butt-plate and trigger guard. The bolt was complexly seized and wouldn’t budge, however after a couple hours in an ultrasonic cleaner and a week soaking in oil, I was finally able to disassemble the bolt for a complete cleaning. I’m going to be honest, the bluing on this shotgun didn’t come out as I expected, so I may be circling back on this one for a re-blue. Parts for this model are very hard to come by, and it took several weeks to get a trigger spring plunger so I could finish the job. I’m happy how it turned out overall, and hoping it performs well in the field. A true classic!
