Scoring Rules

Arrows hitting the line between two scoring zones are awarded the higher score.

Score Sheet – email scores to [email protected]

Games should be completed within a 2 week period. If you cannot makeup a game within two weeks, let me know and we can come up with some options. Shooters can use makeup games, banked games or absentee scores for missed events. If you would like to bank a game, you will need to let me know which week you are banking, and I will mark down that week as your banked game. Once a game has been banked, shooters have the option of shooting a makeup game, or using their banked game for a missed week. Absentee scores will be used if I do not receive a makeup game within a two week period and there isn’t a banked game. Your absentee score is calculated on the “Worksheet” tab of the spreadsheet. Detailed information about the calculation for archers can be found below. Click here for the LC&SA Club Calendar.

Of course we all have things that come up, so the best thing to do is just reach out to me and we can have a conversation about what works best for you.

Handicap Calculation Summary

The handicap formulas in the sheet ‘Worksheet’ calculate archers’ handicaps based on their recent performance data. Here’s how they work:

Formula in Column O: “3 Wk Hdcp [=SUM(N3/9)*0.8]”

=IF(COUNT(Standings!I2:AM2)>=3,SUM(N2/9)*0.8,IF(COUNT(Standings!I2:AM2)=2,SUM(N2/6)*0.8,IF(COUNT(Standings!I2:AM2)=1,SUM(N2/3)*0.8)))
  • This formula calculates the handicap based on the total score from column N divided by the number of games played (9, 6, or 3) and multiplies it by 0.8.
  • It uses COUNT to check the number of recent games played:
    • If 3 games are played, it divides the total score by 9.
    • If 2 games are played, it divides the total score by 6.
    • If 1 game is played, it divides the total score by 3.

Formula in Column P: “3 wk hdcp (.5 & above roundup)”

=ROUND(O2,0)
  • This formula rounds the calculated handicap from column O to the nearest whole number.
  • If the decimal part is 0.5 or greater, it rounds up; otherwise, it rounds down.

These formulas dynamically adjust the handicap based on the number of recent games played and ensure the result is rounded appropriately for use in competitions.
