1896 30-40 Kraag

Posted on April 15, 2022

While at a gun show, a customer brought me his great great grandfather’s 30-40 Kraag. This was from the Spanish American War. His ancestor purchased the rifle, and soon dropped it, splitting the stock in two. I performed the repair and returned it to the owner. It turned out better than I thought. I used a Brownell’s epoxy (Acra Quick Epoxy) to fuse the two pieces together. It should be stronger now, than before the stock was broken. This stock was very tricky because of it’s age, antique value, and sentimental value to the family.
