The Cooey Ace 1 is a single shot, bolt action 22LR made in Canada between 1929 and 1934. This particular one is a family heirloom and was in need of some refinishing. When given the rifle, it appeared to have a gloss finish, and after learning the age of the firearm, I went with a tung oil finish. After re-bluing the barrel and cleaning all the steel, this little rifle reminds me of a young boy’s Christmas wish-list. It sure would look great under the tree on Christmas morning!
