I was asked to fix up this old Springfield Jr. Model 50 .22 caliber rifle. The owner inherited it from a dear friend he lost a few years ago, and it was an honor getting the rifle back in good shape. I couldn’t find much at all about this model online, however it has a very simple design. The trigger group acts as a compression spring for the bolt and shell extractor. I had to remove 1 screw and a cotter pin to disassemble the entire firearm. Very simple with very little moving parts. The stock was in excellent condition, and you could tell this rifle was cared for over the years, it just needed a polish. I only needed to refinish the barrel and components, and I think it turned out really well.
